Connection Instructions

If you have not had internet service or are unsure please go to the Verify Dial Up page to verify you have Dial Up Networking installed before beginning with your connect instructions.

Go to Start, Programs, Internet Explorer, and Connection Wizard OR Open Internet Explorer and choose Work Offline, View, Internet Options, Connection (tab), Connect then...

Choose "I want to set up a new connection on this computer to my existing internet account using my phone line or Local Area Network (LAN)"
-Click Next

Choose "Connect using my Phone Line"
-Click Next

Choose "Create a new Dial-up Connection"
-Click Next

Type the phone number for your connection 325-691-8907

Remove the check from "Dial Using Country Code and Area Code"
-Click Next

Type in your username & password (Make sure everything is in LOWERCASE)
-Click Next

On Advanced Settings—choose No
-Click Next

On Dial-up Name—Type a name for your connection like WesTex
-Click Next

On Internet Mail Setup—Click Yes
-Click Next

Choose "Create a new internet mail account"
-Click Next

On Display Name—put whatever you would like
-Click Next

On Email Address— your username@wtconnect.com
-Click Next

On Email Server Names—Use POP3
Type in both incoming & outgoing mail servers: mail.wtconnect.com  -Click Next

On Log On Using—verify that POP Account Name is selected & your username & password are entered

DO NOT SELECT "Log on using secure password authentication"  -Click Next

On Friendly Name—Anything you wish—just labels the email account
-Click Next

On Internet News Setup—select No
-Click Next

On Internet Directory Service Setup—select No
-Click Next
-Click Finish

If you are using Windows '98 -- you can skip this part:

Go to My Computer
Select Dial-Up Networking
Right click on your new connection (ie. WesTex)
Select Properties
Select the top tab—Server Types
On the "Type of dial-up server" make sure PPP:Internet, Windows NT, etc. is selected
Then click on TCP/IP Settings
Make sure the "server assigned IP address" is selected—then select Specify name server addresses
Type in the primary DNS: 12.147.130.2
Type in the secondary DNS: 12.37.55.2

WIN98 USERS—You do not have to enter the DNS #s—select Server assigned name server addresses

(NOTE: make sure you delete the zero on the end & use the arrow key when entering the DNS numbers)

-Click OK
-Click OK again

To Make WesTex Your Home Page:

Open Internet Explorer
Go to View—Internet Options
On default page—type in   http://www.wtconnect.com
Click OK at bottom of screen
